The Weyermann® distillery continues the success story at Falstaff Spirits Special 2024

Our Weyermann® distillery has achieved an impressive premiere success at the renowned Falstaff Spirits Special 2024. With seven entries and just as many award-winning products, we underline our outstanding position in the world of spirits.

Front runner: Nougat cream liqueur

Our Nougat Cream Liqueur, which is refined with fine Weyermann® Whisky, achieved the highest score of 94 points among our entered products. The jury praised the successful balance between creamy sweetness and fine nougat flavors.

Whisky expertise at the highest level

Two of our whisky creations were awarded 93 points each:

The Weyermann® Single Malt Whisky Triple Cask Edition impressed with its complexity resulting from maturation in three different types of cask. A strong, spicy profile unfolds on the palate with a beautiful malty sweetness, fine notes of oak, vanilla and toffee.

The Weyermann® Single Malt Whisky No. 5 impresses with its exquisite aroma profile, which highlights the craftsmanship of our distillery. It is malty, slightly smoky and subtly fruity, with a fine honey sweetness, vanilla and delicate oak on the nose.

Our other spirits also impressed the jury:

Weyermann® Magenbitter: 92 points

Weyermann® Double Cask Single Malt Whisky: 91 points

Weyermann® Apfelbrand – aged in acacia barrels: 90 points

Weyermann® Blutorangenbrand: 88 points

Master Distiller Philipp Schwarz, who is responsible for these creations together with distiller Laurenz Schorner, is delighted to receive the awards:

“The recognition at this year’s Falstaff Spirits Special confirms our philosophy of combining the highest quality and innovative strength. I am particularly proud of the diversity of our award-winning products, which range from traditional fruit brandies to complex whiskies. It is also a special honor as this is the first time our work has been submitted to Falstaff and it is bearing wonderful fruit.”

These awards fit in seamlessly with our recent successes. Our Triple Cask Single Malt Whisky was recently awarded gold at the Women’s International Trophy, and both our Triple Cask Edition Single Malt Whisky and our Blood Orange Brandy received gold awards at the DLG 2024 test.

The Falstaff Spirits Special is a renowned annual spirits competition organized by the leading gourmet magazine Falstaff. A jury of experienced experts tastes and evaluates the submitted spirits in various categories according to strict sensory criteria.

From whisky and rum to gin, vodka and fine brandies, the best products from all over the world are selected. With several hundred samples tasted each year, the Falstaff Spirits Special has developed into one of the most important industry events in the German-speaking world and is held in high regard by producers and consumers alike.
