Women Brewing for a Good Cause – Weyermann® Women’s Brewing Day 2025
On March 7th, 2025, we celebrated our eighth Women’s Brewing Day, a cherished tradition at Weyermann® since 2016. In honor of International Women’s Day on March 8th, our female employees gathered at the Weyermann® brewhouse in Bamberg to showcase their creativity and expertise. International Women’s Day has been celebrated around the globe since 1911 to draw attention to women’s rights and gender equality worldwide. This day celebrates the success of the women’s rights movement to date, draws attention to existing discrimination and inequality and encourages people to get involved in the fight for equality themselves.
A Day of Brewing and Team Spirit
Under the guidance of our brewmaster Constantin Förtner, participants enjoyed a dynamic day focused on beer brewing. Rotating between groups, they explored mashing and brewing processes, fostering teamwork while gaining valuable insights into the craft.
Beyond brewing, baking was also part of the experience. Collaborating with our craft baker Friedrich Rauh, participants created complementary snacks. This year’s creation featured quark balls with orange juice and zest, malt flour, and a hint of coriander seeds – a perfect pairing for the brewed beer.
“Weyermann® Crazy Coriander” – Our Unique Witbier
This year’s beer creation is named “Weyermann® Crazy Coriander,” inspired by the traditional Belgian Witbier style. Brewmaster Constantin Förtner explains:
“Our number 4, Weyermann® Crazy Coriander, combines classic Witbier ingredients like coriander seeds and orange peels with premium Weyermann® barley and wheat malts. The result is a refreshing beer with a complex aroma profile – ideal for warm summer days.”
Commitment to a Good Cause
A highlight of the day was the ceremonial check presentation to Bamberg Women’s Shelter – a tradition since the event’s inception in 2016. We are delighted that €2,500 from last year’s beer creation “Weyermann® Nr. 83 Orange Rockt” will support their projects.
Silke Thomas, head of marketing at Weyermann®, emphasizes: “This event not only fosters community and creativity among our employees but also allows us to make a visible contribution that everyone can participate in. Supporting Bamberg Women’s Shelter remains close to our hearts.”
Anticipation for the Release
After maturing in the fermentation cellar at our brewhouse, “Weyermann® Crazy Coriander” will be available starting mid-May in our Living & Drinking shop. Beer enthusiasts can look forward to a unique taste experience that blends tradition with innovation.
The Weyermann® Women’s Brewing Day 2025 was not just a day of collaborative brewing but also a celebration of creativity, teamwork, and social commitment. We are proud to continue this tradition and eagerly anticipate next year’s event on March 8th, 2026!
