1st Weyermann® Bamberger Hofbräu® Maibock beer tapping
Best weather, delicious beer and a cheerful, exuberant atmosphere – this is how the 1st Weyermann® Bamberger Hofbräu® Maibock beer tapping can be summarized, which took place at Weyermann® last week.
The Weyermann® management invited to the premiere: 1st Bamberger Hofbräu® Maibock beer tapping on the Weyermann® company premises „Plant 3“ – Memmelsdorfer Strasse / Brennerstrasse – where the Weyermann® brewmanufacturer is the home of the Bamberger Hofbräu®.
Thomas Kraus-Weyermann opened the event with a warm welcome to the guests (Weyermann® employees + spouses/ partners as well as Weyermann® pensioners), who he then took on a journey through the history of the Bamberger Hofbräu®.
Why Bamberger Hofbräu®?
The personal connection between Weyermann® and the Bamberger Hofbräu® dates back to the 1940s. The father of our boss Sabine Weyermann, Heinz Weyermann, completed his brewing training in what was formerly the largest brewery in Bamberg, and which was closed at the end of the 1970s.The great affinity to the brand has remained, so that our bosses, when they had the opportunity, acquired the brand in 2006 and revitalized it. Since then, the Bamberger Hofbräu® beers have been brewed according to original recipes in our Weyermann® brewmanufacture. The Bamberger Hofbräu® Maibock is one of many recipes that we have received from the hand of the last master brewer of the original Bamberger Hofbräu®, Ossi Müller. With this Maibock, the range of the popular Bamberger Hofbräu® line has been expanded to nine types of beer!
After a brief presentation of the recipe by Weyermann® master brewer Constantin Förtner, Thomas Kraus-Weyermann tapped the first keg and therewith officially openend the event.
In the glass, the Maibock presents itself with a beautiful, old golden color and a white head. In terms of taste, the wonderfully balanced creation convinces with pronounced malt notes reminiscent of toffee and refreshing herbal notes from the hops.
The guests enjoyed the Maibock with suitable culinary delights such as steaks, bratwurst, tarte flambée and pastries.
Those present also glady took the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of the brewmanufacture, bakery, IT, HR, finance and accounting, history and marketing departments, which are located on the „Plant 3“ site.
Musical entertainment was provided by the band Wellblech, who, with their mixed repertoire of dixie, swing, pop and rock, served for a cheerful atmosphere and encouraged people to dance.
The wonderful overall mood lasted until late in the evening, so that the revelers talked, danced, laughed and played a game or two of table top soccer, table tennis and corn hole until the very end.
Our thanks go to our efficient and creative organization team for this wonderful afternoon and evening!
Many thanks also to the caterers, Partyservice Ludwig and Tarte Flambeé, for the great hospitality.
Last but not least, a big thank you to our bosses for inviting us to this all-round successful event!
