Weyermann® Brewing Barley Producer Award – Harvest 2024

February at Weyermann® is dedicated to recognizing quality brewing barley cultivation. Since 2012, our renowned company has annually honored the extraordinary achievements of our regional grain farmers with the prestigious Weyermann® Brewing Barley Producer Award. This accolade underscores the fundamental importance of first-class raw materials for producing excellent malts.

This year’s award ceremony, a cherished traditional event, brought together the company management, the raw materials purchasing team, and the distinguished farmers in the wonderful ambiance of our Weyermann® Guest Center.

The evening began with a warm reception, followed by an informative tour of the facility, which demonstrated to guests the journey of their high-quality brewing barley to the unique Weyermann® specialty malts.

In a festive setting, Managing Director Thomas Kraus-Weyermann and Timo Haselmann, responsible for brewing grain purchasing, presented the philosophy behind the Brewing Barley Producer Award. The award winners – Jürgen Hübner, Alfred Linz, Norbert Schwarzott, Wilibald and Brigitte Schmitt, and Christian Wachtel – were honored with exclusive gifts symbolizing the appreciation for their outstanding work: a hand-made and hand-painted plate from the traditional Schnauder & Sanke pottery workshop in Thurnau, a Weyermann® polo shirt embroidered with his name and a copy of the Weyermann® history.

An exquisite 3-course menu, perfectly paired with selected Weyermann® brewing specialties, rounded off the successful evening.
