2. Weyermann® Harvest Festival in Clingen
30 agricultural businesses from the region surrounding our Weyermann® production site in Clingen, Thuringia, accepted our invitation to this year’s Weyermann® Harvest Festival.
With this festival, we aim to thank our long-standing partners for their dedication to cultivating high-quality brewing barley and express our appreciation for them.
Following the welcome speech by Weyermann® Managing Director Thomas Kraus-Weyermann, Stefanie Augner, responsible for brewing grain procurement, took the floor. She reported on the 2024 harvest – a very good harvest was brought in at our Clingen facility – as well as on the cultivation of our historical varieties. Additionally, she provided an outlook on variety planning for the 2025 harvest.
After Weyermann® Plant Manager Clingen Jens Hell expressed gratitude to the diligent team for their tireless efforts – especially during the harvest – he opened the lunch. Delicious homemade pea soup from the historical field kitchen was served, wonderfully prepared by the Weißensee Fire Department Association.
Well-nourished, a factory tour followed, during which our partners could trace the journey from grain to finished malt product, learning how our wonderful Craft Terroir and Heirloom malts are created from their products.
The event concluded with a cozy finale over coffee and cake from the “Bäckerei Keitel” bakery in Westgreußen.
We are delighted that we were able to strengthen our red-yellow bond with our loyal partners from agriculture through this all-around successful day.
Many thanks to our capable on-site organization team for the excellent preparations and to the Obertopfstedt local heritage association for providing the beautiful decorations.
Thank you to the Weißensee Fire Department Association for the comforting soup and to Keitel Bakery for the delicious cakes.
Many thanks to our bosses Sabine Weyermann and Thomas Kraus-Weyermann, as well as Franziska Weyermann, for this wonderful tradition.
