Harvest Time in Leesau: Innovative solar technology ensures grain quality

In the course of of sustainability, we have equipped our grain hall in Leesau with a modern photovoltaic system. The latest solar cell technology was installed using so-called bifacial solar modules.
 
Bifacial modules allow for higher solar yield on the same surface area. While conventional modules can only use sunlight that falls on the front side; bifacial modules also convert direct radiation on the backside into electricity.
 
Furthermore, state-of-the-art technology is employed through performance-optimized inverters. Performance optimizers monitor the performance of individual solar modules and ensure they reach the optimal Maximum Power Point (MPP). This can increase the power yield by up to 25%.
 
With a total capacity of 210 kWp (kilowatt peak), our new solar panels can achieve an annual yield of 198,000 kWh (kilowatt hours)!
 
During the harvest time, the energy demand at our Leesau location is higher than usual. Here, the generated solar power can be directly used to transport, clean, and ventilate the grain.
