Italian Brewmasters on the Trail of Lager Beer in Bamberg
The focus of this year’s seminar with Italian brewmasters was brewing authentic lagers with all the interesting facts there is to know about this wonderful beer style.
For the 14th time we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of Italian brewing specialists to a two-day seminar in our special malting factory in Bamberg.
The program of the seminar, which we organized in collaboration with our Weyermann® distribution partner for Italy, Uberti S.R.L., included lectures and presentations, as well as workshops and tastings led by our Weyermann® beer and malt expert for Italy, Alirio Caldera.
Of course, our Weyermann® Eraclea Pilsner malt was used during the joint brewing session. Made from the finest two-row Italian Adriatic Coastal barley, cultivated in the region around the city of Eraclea, close to Venice, this aromatic malt provides the perfect base for aromatic and authentic Mediterranean beers.
An excursion to the Weyermann® craft bakery and distillery as well as a tour of our company including an evening supporting program in our beautiful beer city Bamberg rounded off the seminar perfectly.
