Sporting fun in the castle park: Weyermann® running team at the 39th castle run in Memmelsdorf
Last weekend, the Weyermann® running team was out and about again! With seven motivated runners, we took part in the 39th castle run in Memmelsdorf – a real highlight in the Franconian running calendar.
Four of our runners took part in the hobby run, which covered a distance of 5,400 meters and consisted of two laps through the idyllic castle park. The main race, in which three runners from the Weyermann® team took part, covered a distance of 10.7 kilometers. This route led from the castle park over a large loop through the adjacent forest and back to the castle park. The paths were completely asphalt-free and had short sections with trail character, which made the runs particularly appealing. The varied route offered sporting challenges as well as magnificent views that almost made you forget the exertion. The picturesque surroundings of the castle in particular made this day unforgettable.
After the run, the athletes made their way to the Drei Kronen brewery inn to enjoy the evening together. In a cozy atmosphere, they were able to review the day over hearty meals and a well-deserved beer. Of course, there was also time to talk about personal running experiences and new goals.
“A day that showed us how wonderfully sporting activity, team spirit and enjoyment can be combined. We are proud of our Weyermann® running team and are already looking forward to the next joint events.” – Timo Haselmann, Raw Materials Purchasing & Goods Accounting.
A big thank you to the management for making it possible for us to have such wonderful sporting days as a team. From the functional red and yellow running shirts to the registration fees and the refreshments after the race – we owe it all to our bosses.
