Weyermann® Distillery receives Bavarian State Honor Prize for Distillers
What an extraordinary honor for the Weyermann® Distillery: for the outstanding results at the Bavarian fruit spirits awards 2022, we were awarded the Bavarian State Honor Prize for Distillers!
With this award, we are among the best ten distillers in Bavaria!
Four quality products from the Weyermann® Distillery were able to convince the jury at the Bavarian fruit spirits awards 2022: the Weyermann® No. 4 Single Malt Whisky, the Weyermann® No. 5 Single Malt Whisky, the Weyermann® One Fourty Single Malt Whisky and the Weyermann® apple spirit aged in acacia barrels.
All of our spirits are handcrafted in our Weyermann® Distillery using the best raw materials only.
This year’s winners of the state honor prize were determined on the basis of a total of 546 product samples submitted to the Bavarian fruit spirits awards by the distilleries.
Every two years, the fine spirits are analyzed by the Bavarian State Institute for Viticulture and Horticulture as well as a jury of experts according to scientific criteria and evaluated anonymously.
Beaming with joy, our Weyermann® Master Distiller Philipp Schwarz attended the award ceremony of the Bavarian State Honor Prize for Distillers in Grünwald near Munich and accepted the certificate from the agriculture minister Michaela Kaniber.
We are proud that our merits for the Bavarian art of distilling are honored and valued with this award!
The presentation of the Bavarian State Honor Prize for Distillers is a central element of the “Bayern Brand – Wir brennen für Bayern” initiative of the ministry and the three small and fruit distiller associations in the regions of Franconia, Lindau and south-eastern Bavaria.
The state honor prize recognizes both the outstanding craftsmanship of the distillers and the high-quality regional raw materials used: local fruit varieties, many of which come from Bavarian meadow orchards. For by refining orchards into fine spirits, distillers make an important contribution to the preservation of Bavarian orchards and thus to the protection of biodiversity and the preservation of the cultural landscape.
